Two Weeks Down

Aug 21, 2026

Happy Friday, Blazer Family!

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and is ready for another great week at GPA!

It is hard to believe we are already heading into another week together. I continue to be so proud of our students and staff as we learn our new building, establish our routines, and really begin settling into life as one GPA family.

We have spent these first weeks being very intentional about relationships, routines, expectations, and consistency. Those things matter. We want our kiddos to know they are loved, know what is expected of them, and feel like GPA is their school home. Now that those foundations are taking shape, you will begin to see us diving deeper into academics and instruction.

Thank you for continuing to trust the process and grow right alongside us.

PICTURE DAY IS TUESDAY!

Get those Blazer smiles ready!

Picture Day is Tuesday, August 25.

Please make sure students arrive on time and are ready for their school pictures. We cannot wait to see all those sweet smiling faces! Students must be in dresscode.

ACADEMICS ARE RAMPING UP

As we move forward, our classrooms will begin shifting from our heavy focus on routines and relationship building into our full academic rhythm.

Our teachers have been working hard to get to know their students not only as kiddos, but also as learners. That foundation will help us meet students where they are and challenge them to grow throughout this school year.

We have big goals for our Blazers, and we are excited to get started!

MAP TESTING

MAP testing is coming up for our students.

Our 8th graders will test first, followed by 7th grade.

Additional information and testing schedules will be shared with families as we get closer.

MAP gives our teachers valuable information about where students are academically and helps us make instructional decisions throughout the year. We want students to do their best, but there is no reason to stress about this assessment.

CAR LINE

I cannot thank our families enough for the grace you have shown us as we have worked through car line in our brand new building.

Every day we are learning, adjusting, and getting better.

A HUGE thank you continues to go to our Dads on Duty, our staff, and everyone outside helping us keep our kiddos safe and keep those cars moving.

Parents, thank you for your patience, your smiles, your waves, and especially the sweet emails and words of encouragement you have sent my way. They mean more than you know.

We are getting there! 💙

GO BLAZERS!

Our Blazer athletics are officially underway!

We are so excited to watch our student athletes represent GPA this year. There is something incredibly special about watching our school traditions begin to take shape, and athletics are going to be a big part of building that Blazer pride.

Come out, support our teams, and help us fill the stands with Blazer spirit!

OUR PLAYGROUND IS GROWING!

Our students have a few more reasons to be excited about break time!

Basketball and our GaGa Pit are being installed as we continue working toward creating outdoor spaces our students can enjoy.

There is still more to come, and we are excited to watch our campus continue to grow!

A LITTLE HELP FROM HOME

Parents, one of the best ways you can help us right now is by reinforcing our expectations at home.

Please remind your Blazer that we:

  • Walk quietly on the right side of the hallway.
  • Follow directions the first time.
  • Respect our building and take care of our new school.
  • Show kindness to our classmates and teachers.
  • Choose what is right, even when it is not the easiest choice.
  • We have almost 800 kiddos learning how to share one school home, and those little reminders make a BIG difference.

SAVE THE DATE: GPA FALL FESTIVAL

Mark your calendars!

October 15 | 4:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Planning is officially underway for our GPA Fall Festival!

We are dreaming up an evening filled with hay rides, photos with the blue trucks, a cake walk, inflatables, a hay maze, food trucks, vendor booths, games, and plenty of opportunities for our GPA families to spend time together.

More information will be coming soon, but for now, SAVE THE DATE!

THANK YOU, GPA FAMILY

I know I say it often, but I hope you know how much I mean it.

Thank you for trusting us with your babies.

Opening a brand new school building with grades 3 through 8 means there are going to be things we learn as we go. There will be routines we tweak, procedures we improve, and things we realize work differently once almost 800 kiddos are actually walking these hallways.

And that is okay.

What matters most is that every decision we make comes back to our students.

Thank you for your patience. Thank you for your encouragement. Thank you for supporting our teachers. Thank you for giving us grace. And thank you for helping us build the kind of school community we dreamed GPA could become.

We are just getting started, Blazer Family, and I am so excited about what is ahead.

Every day is a fresh start. Make it count by choosing what's right, not what's easy.

Love you all,

💙Mrs.Davis
