Laurie George is excited to be teaching 8th Grade English Language Arts. She brings 38 years of teaching experience to the classroom, with most of her career spent working with middle school students. She earned a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and a master's degree in Middle School Language Arts.

Mrs. George loves helping students discover the connection between reading and writing. She believes that strong readers become stronger writers, and she enjoys creating a classroom where students feel comfortable asking questions, sharing ideas, and growing in confidence.

When she's not at school, Mrs. George enjoys spending time with her family. She has two grown daughters and six grandchildren. She also loves reading, hiking, biking, watching the birds, and puttering in the yard. She is looking forward to getting to know her students and partnering with families for a happy and successful school year.
